Cougars deny Aycock, move to 3-1

J.B. Rhodes was looking for redemption after what he considered a sub-par personal performance against Southern Wayne Tuesday evening — a game his Goldsboro High School Cougars won handily.

Tonight, the young man, seen above taking out Charles B. Aycock running back Taevian Jackson, was dominant on both sides of the ball, and his effort — combined with a failed CBA two-point conversion and a Brody Morton hard count that drew the Golden Falcons defense offsides on a GHS fourth down with less than two minutes on the clock — gave the Cougars just enough to earn their third victory of the year.

The Goldsboro High School varsity football team isn’t the only group anticipating Friday’s matchup with Charles B. Aycock. The varsity cheerleaders circled this game on their calendars, too. And the action that unfolded during the crew’s Wednesday practice left little doubt. These ladies are ready to do what they do best.
